Beauty of tradition-The Rabha affair

Rabha is a little-known Scheduled Tribe community of Assam. The Rabhas belong to the Indo Mongoloid group of people and have similarities with other members of Bodo group such as Garos, Kachari, Mech, Koch, Hajong and others. The traditional economy of the Rabhas in general, is based on agriculture, forest based activities and weaving.Weaving is a traditional occupation of the Rabha women. The speciality of rabha textile is the extremely intricate extra warp and extra weft brocading woven skillfully without any jacquard or dobby technique-a true marvel!!
We start with an earnest effort of supporting the Rabha weavers with our collection of pure cotton handwoven stoles and fabrics ....elegant texturing, excellent drapability and extreme comfort!!!

My all smiling, all blushing and very talented weaver...she is a perfect homemaker and an excellent professional-kudos to her...while doing our job is such a painful task for us she manages to multitask with big smiling face always...this is a part of the country where economy is extremely poor and after having such skilled weavers , weaving is not yet an industry...it was her professionalism and dynamism and positive attitude that has helped to start up with our collection there ..this shows talent is overflowing in our nation..we just need to give them the platform...cheers to handwoven fabrics and their protectors...big smiles
